Sideout is a volleyball-first app for the people who actually run the sport week to week — open gyms, pickup, beach doubles, grass, and tournaments. Find a session near you, sign up solo or as a team, and know your spot before you drive out. If you're the one holding the court, host it here and get paid without chasing anyone for cash.

What it does

Built around how a session actually runs, not around a generic events calendar.

Find a session

Browse open gyms, pickup, and tournaments by surface, format, and skill level. Sign up on your own and join the player pool, or bring a full team.

Build the roster

Real positions, not a headcount. Claim a slot, see who's in, and fill the gaps from the pool before game day instead of the morning of.

Run the night

Check-in, king-of-the-court rotation, reffing order, and scores both teams confirm. The court sorts itself out so the host isn't refereeing arguments.

How the money works

Hosts charge for their events. Sideout handles the collection and pays the host out afterwards.

    The host sets the price A host lists an event and sets what a spot costs — or makes it free.

    Players pay when they sign up Card payments are processed by Stripe. Players see a service fee and a processing fee itemised before they pay. Sideout never handles or stores card numbers.

    Cancel in time, get refunded Cancel more than 24 hours before start and the payment is refunded in full, automatically. If a host cancels the event, everyone is refunded.
  4. 04
    The host is paid after the event Earnings transfer to the host's own bank account 72 hours after the event ends, once the refund window has closed. Sideout keeps a service fee on each signup.

Playing with strangers

People meet up in real gyms through this app, so a few things are deliberate.

Address on signup

Before you have a spot, an event shows its date and rough area. The exact venue and time are shared once you're actually on the roster.

Report and block

Any message or player can be reported, and blocking cuts contact in both directions. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours.

Attendance on record

Check-in is how a session confirms who actually turned up, so reliability reflects what happened rather than who complained.
